Flabellina avachensis gen. et sp. n. - a new genus and species of the family Delesseriaceae (Rhodophyta) from the near Kamchatka waters of the Pacific Ocean

A new red algal genus of the family Delesseriaceae, Flabellina Selivanova et Zhigadlova gen. n., and its type speciets, Flabellina avachensis Selivanova et Zhigadlova sp. n., from Avacha Gulf (Pacific coast of Kamchatka) are described and depicted. The systematic position of the new genus within the subfamilies and tribes of the Delesseriaceae and its difference from the other close relatives representing the family Delesseriacea are discussed.
