Using materials of oceanographic observations for 1932-2014, the value of a "new" primary production of the Sea of Okhotsk Sea was assessed basing on loss of silicon content in the euphotic layer. The average long-term estimations are carried out for the spring-summer period (May-July) after "cold" and "warm" hydrological winters. It is shown that in the main part of the surveyed area, the spring-summer phytoplankton production was 1.5-2.0 times higher after "warm" winters than after "cold" ones.

Key words: primary production, Sea of Okhotsk, "starting" concentration, nutrients, compensatory surface.
