Species composition of planktonic microalgae of coastal waters of Sakhalin Island, Sea of Okhotsk

A generalized study of the species composition of phytoplankton of coastal waters of Sakhalin Island (Sea of Okhotsk) is made. A total of 227 species and 4 intraspecies taxa belonging to 8 divisions of microalgae are listed. The highest number of taxa was found for diatoms (112 species and 3 intraspecific taxa) and dinoflagellates (96 and 1, respectively). Five species of diatoms, 4 species of dinoflagellates, and 1 species of euglenophytes were not previously recorded for the Sea of Okhotsk.
